The MA80T series vortex flowmeter strictly follows the principle of reliability in its design, adopting an optimized design scheme with simplified structure. The entire series of product components achieve high universality and interchangeability; The circuit components use new components with high reliability indicators and adopt surface mount technology, eliminating low reliability components such as potentiometers and connectors, significantly improving the overall reliability indicators of the machine.

Vortex flowmeters have become the standard for many industrial process applications, particularly for measuring gas and steam flow rates, over the last 30 years.

The enhanced vortex flowmeter starter causes the medium entering along the axial direction to rotate, forming a vortex core at the center of this rotation. The vortex core forms a secondary spiral rotation diagram under the action of countercurrent.

The frequency of this secondary rotation is directly proportional to the flow rate. If the internal geometry is good, it is linear over a wide range of flow rates, and the rotation frequency is detected by a piezoelectric sensor.

  • The vortex flowmeter can be installed indoors or outdoors. If installed in an underground well with the possibility of flooding, the submersible type should be selected.
  • The Vortex flowmeter can be installed horizontally, vertically or inclined on the pipeline. When measuring liquids, the pipeline must be filled with liquid, so when installing a vortex flowmeter on a vertical or inclined pipeline, the direction of liquid flow should be upward.
  • Please keep in mind that for proper installation of the Vortex flowmeter, there should be a long straight pipe section both upstream and downstream. The length of the straight pipe section required may vary depending on the pipeline conditions. It's best to avoid installing regulating valves or half-open valves upstream of the flowmeter. If necessary, these valves can be installed downstream of the flowmeter, but only after a distance of 5D from the flowmeter. For specific installation requirements based on the pipeline conditions, refer to Figure regarding the straight pipe section.
  • For the installation of a vortex flowmeter, the diameter of the pipe must match the inner diameter of the flowmeter. Otherwise, the pipe must be reduced in diameter. The straight pipe section requirements are shown in Figure.
  • When designing the installation of the pipeline, it is important to consider the signal processing converter's upper end. To ensure smooth commissioning and maintenance processes, the converter's upper end should be allocated a space of at least 500mm. This will make it easier for technicians to access and carry out any necessary repairs or adjustments to the converter. The extra space will also prevent any accidental damage to the converter during maintenance activities.
